1794.
Trijn van de Caab, a freed slave and wigmaker’s apprentice, travels
with her adored French employer and teacher Crispin Le Voir
to a remote slave estate for an unknown reason.

The estate is named Vogelzang.
It’s the Age of Enlightenment.
Dutch colonists occupy the Cape.
On arriving, Trijn meets
the kitchen slave women.

This film is based on the book
'The Spiral House' by Claire Robertson.
As she weaves a wig to hide a secret, Trijn learns that
